Winners
1. Galadriel
Galadriel finally gets the support she needs to continue her quest against Sauron. It’s unclear how many orcs there are, but 10 ships of men seems like a decent force. However, knowing how these things usually turn out for humans, something tells me 10 ships of men won’t nearly be enough. Still, this is a step in the right direction for Galadriel at the very least.
2. Adar
It’s clear that Adar has the absolute loyalty of the orcs, and the fact that he’s managed to organize them as an elf is impressive. He’s closing in on the weapon that’s so far eluded him (Sauron’s hilt), and seeing as how the humans at the watchtower are hungry and weak, it seems he has the upper hand.
3. Elrond
Elrond’s friendship with Prince Durin has been fully restored, so much so that Durin gifts him a piece of the newly-discovered mithril. That friendship has given him access to the dwarfish expertise and workforce who have made considerable progress on Celebrimbor’s tower.
Losers
1. The Humans at the Watchtower
The humans are weak, hungry, disorganized, and fearful. And there’s at least one Sauron-sympathizer among them. Their chances against Adar and his orcs are slim. The only question is whether Galadriel will arrive with her Numenorian support before the watchtower falls or not.
2. Isildur
Not only does he intentionally get himself kicked off Sea Guard, he also gets his two friends dismissed as well. He volunteers to sail with the Queen to Middle Earth so he has a chance to redeem himself, but considering what they’ll be sailing into, that has to count as a loss.
3. Arondir
Arondir has to lead a bunch of weak humans, again, at least one of which is a Sauron-sympathizer, against the well-organized orcs. He’s not a prisoner anymore and he didn’t watch any more of his friends die so this is definitely an improvement…
