House of the Dragon S2E1 Power Rankings

Posted on June 23, 2024June 23, 2024 By Yaseen

1. Ser Otto Hightower

Otto’s days as Hand of the King seem numbered if Larys’ scheming is anything to go by, but for now, he holds on to the top spot.

2. King Aegon Targaryen II

Aegon’s settled into his role as King despite the early hiccups. He’s demonstrated some leadership potential and an appetite for cruelty. That combination can be very dangerous.

3. Lord Larys Strong

Now that he has Alicent under his thumb, Larys has set his sights on Otto. And in the aftermath of Jaehaerys’ murder, he might just have the opening he needs to become Hand.

4. Queen Alicent Hightower

Alicent is in trouble. Her influence is waning and it’s only a matter of time before her affair with Cole devastates what little legitimacy she has left.

5. Prince Aemond Targaryen

Aemond faced no repercussions for killing Lucerys. If anything, he’s cemented his place (alongside Vhagar) as the most dangerous weapon the Greens have.

6. Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen

Rhaenyra secured the North and the Vale, but Daemon’s actions leave her just outside the top five for now.

7. Lord Tyland Lannister

The Lannister armies amassing at the Golden Tooth are strategically critical to the Greens’ ground operations.

8. Prince Daemon Targaryen

Daemon’s authority continues to be undermined by the likes of Rhaenys. His actions this episode will likely get him dismissed, and that doesn’t bode well for his influence.

9. Princess Rhaeyns Targaryen

Rhaenys is proving her military worth by patrolling the seas on dragonback. She’s more than capable of holding her own and that bodes well for the Blacks.

10. Lord Corlys Velaryon

Corlys’ fleet has proven to be of great utility once again. The blockade of the Gullet is putting pressure on King’s Landing. Corlys may even be back in action soon.

11. Ser Criston Cole

Cole is a unique position: he has the trust of Aegon, Aemond, and Alicent. That gives him a good measure of influence.

12. Jacaerys Velaryon

Jacaerys has proven his worth by securing both the Vale and the North.
