‘Succession’ S4E6 Power Rankings: New and Improved

Posted on May 3, 2023May 3, 2023 By Yaseen 2 Comments on ‘Succession’ S4E6 Power Rankings: New and Improved

Kendall has Matsson firmly in his sights after executing his plan well at the annual investors meeting. Can he keep it up?

1. Lukas Matsson

Matsson just about holds on to top spot despite pressure from Kendall. He may not have won this round, but his tweet was a reminder that he can do serious damage. In the unlikely event that Kendall is able to fend off GoJo’s bid, Matsson will not go down quietly. I’ll give him a chance to properly respond before dropping him a spot.

2. Kendall Roy

Kendall is playing with fire, and normally he would have been burned by this point. The fact that he hasn’t done so yet is massive. His plan for Living Plus is super shaky, but if he somehow manages to pull it off, then he’ll have a clear run at being CEO full time. Early responses were positive; however, what matters is when the dust settles. Can Kendall get Karl onboard to legitimize the numbers, or will the plan implode from within? One thing is for certain, Kendall has tied his trajectory to that of Living Plus.

3. Siobhan Roy

Shiv drops a spot not because of anything she did, but because Kendall did more. She actually had a good all-round episode. The relationship with Matsson is already bearing fruit. In fact, he’s already offered her a spot in his leadership team should the deal go through. Her and Tom took a couple of major steps towards reconciliation as well. Roman is no match for her. The biggest threat to her right now is the increasingly distant Kendall. It seems her fate is tied to that of Living Plus as well.

4. Roman Roy

Roman deserves to drop down a couple spots for the string of Ls that he managed here. He’s lucky no one below him did much to capitalize on his weakness. He haphazardly fired Joy when all he needed to do was deliver a strong message. Then, when he was confronted by Gerri, he fired her too. Of course, he exudes so little authority that Gerri basically rejected the firing. The only person that’s supported him, for better or for worse, is Kendall. So when he allowed Shiv to manipulate him into bailing on Kendall last minute, he made a big mistake. Or maybe steering clear of Living Plus might turn out to be good in the long run.

5. Marcia Roy

No appearance.

6. Frank Vernon

Uneventful episode from Frank.

7. Gerri Kellman

Gerri’s going to play a big role in who ends up on top come the end of the season. She has the cunning and personality to do so serious damage if she’s forced into action. Roman won’t go through with her firing, but was the mere suggestion provocation enough?

8. Karl Muller

Karl was similarly aggressive in challenging Kendall’s authority. Ultimately, he rolled over when Kendall’s plan worked, but he too can be dangerous if his position is put under threat.

9. Tom Wamsgans

Tom is moving in the right direction after moving closer to a reconciliation with Shiv. Like many others on this list, his position remains unchanged as we wait for the fallout of Kendall’s actions in the coming episode.

10. Gregory Hirsch

Greg has proven useful to Kendall yet again. It’s not coming with an additional security though, and until that changes, Greg will remain in danger.

11. Karolina Novotney

Uneventful episode from Karolina.

12. Stewy Hosseini

No appearance.

13. Sandi Furness

No appearance.

14. Hugo Baker

Hugo probably keeps his job if Matsson doesn’t take over, so he’s going to be Team Kendall from hereon out. His fate is tied to Kendall’s.

15. Connor Roy

No appearance.

16. Cyd Peach

No updates on whether Cyd got fired yet.
