House of the Dragon S2E6 Power Rankings

Posted on July 28, 2024July 28, 2024 By Yaseen
1. Prince Consort Aemond Targaryen

Aemond is ruling with an iron fist and not making exceptions for anyone, including his own mother. The biggest threat to his power right now is Aegon, so he’s made sure his brother understands that he has no problem finishing the job if he needs to.

2. Ser Criston Cole

Cole remains Aemond’s closest ally despite Aemond’s desire to reinstate Otto as Hand. This next campaign in the Riverlands will be a real test for Cole, though.

3. King Consort Daemon Targaryen

With Grover Tully now dead, Daemon might yet pull off the impossible and raise an army in the Riverlands. If he’s able to accomplish that task, expect him to rise to second or even first depending on the outcome of the impending battle.

4. Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen

Rhaenyra re-enters the top five for the first time in a while thanks to the success of Mysaria’s plan to manipulate the smallfolk of King’s Landing into putting more pressure on the Greens. She seems to finally be finding her footing, but her dependence on Mysaria is a major red flag.

5. Mysaria

Mysaria enters the top five thanks to her newfound position as Rhaenyra’s most trusted advisor. She is as dangerous as ever, even to Rhaenyra.

6. Lord Larys Strong

Aemond isn’t very interested in Larys’ input and has had no problem attacking him in the brief time he’s been Prince Regent. This has forced Larys to back Aegon in the hopes that he might recover and restore Larys’ favor.

7. Lord Corlys Velaryon

No change.

8. Queen Alicent Hightower

Alicent’s freefall has begun now that she’s been dismissed from the Small Council. It’s unclear what sort of role she will salvage moving forwards, but it’s not looking good for her at all.

9. Lord Tyland Lannister

Jason’s demands have put Tyland under immense pressure. He will need to secure some sort of alliance with the Triarchy or he’ll be in serious trouble.

10. Alys Rivers

Alys enters the top ten for the first time thanks to her massive contribution to Daemon’s cause. And much like Mysaria, Alys’ support should not be taken for granted.

11. Prince Jacaerys Velaryon

Jace drops out of the top ten as a result of Rhaenyra’s continued reluctance to keep him in the loop and his subsequent frustration.

12. Lord Simon Strong

Instead of doubting Alys’ loyalities, Daemon doubted Simon. That cost him a couple positions on this list.

13. Lord Oscar Tully

With his grandfather dead, Oscar is now the most important man in the Riverlands.

14. Ser Otto Hightower

Otto will shoot up the list if he’s reinstated as Hand, but for now, he stays where he is.

15. Lady Jeyne Arryn

Jeyne moves up a spot thanks to the revelation that there is a full-sized wild dragon in the Eyrie. The Vale is as secure as it’s ever been.

16. Addam Waters

Addam debuts outside of the top ten despite claiming Seasmoke simply because I’m not sure how competent he’s going to be having had zero dragon-riding experience beforehand.

17. Lord Jason Lannister

Jason is playing with fire, but his army is crucial to Aemond’s two-pronged attack.

18. Ser Gwayne Hightower

Gwayne is off to battle and I’m not sure he’ll make it out of the Riverlands alive.

19. Alyn Waters

Corlys has taken a special interest in his eldest bastard. How that shakes out is unclear, but it is worth keeping an eye on.

20. King Aegon Targaryen II

Aegon is conscious but still in a very vulnerable position. Larys has given him a lifeline, but he has a ton of work to do to get back on his feet.

21. Princess Baela Targaryen

No appearance.

22. Lord Willem Blackwood

No appearance.

23. Lord Amos Bracken

No appearance.

24. Lord Jasper Wylde

No contribution.

25. Princess Rhaena Targaryen

Rhaena will soon have to make the crossing to Pentos on a merchant boat with little more than six men protecting her and two of Rhaenyra’s children at a time when the Triarchy might join the fight. I don’t like this for them at all.

26. Queen Helaena Targaryen

No contribution.

27. Grand Maester Orwyle

Orwyle backed the wrong horse.

28. Lord Borros Baratheon

No appearance.

28. Ser Harrold Westerling

No appearance.

N/A. Joffrey Velaryon

Rhaenyra’s third son.

N/A. Prince Viserys Targaryen II

Daemon and Rhaenyra’s first son together.

N/A. Prince Aegon Targaryen III

Daemon and Rhaenyra’s second son together.

Dead

Princess Rhaenys Targaryen

Went down with Meleys after the dragon was killed by Vhagar at Rook’s Rest.

Ser Erryk Cargyll

Killed himself after killing his brother to save Rhaenyra.

Ser Arryk Cargyll

Died trying to assassinate Rhaenyra.

Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen II

Inadvertently decapitated as retaliation for Lucerys’ murder.

Lucerys Velaryon

Chomped out of the sky by Vhagar.

Lord Caswell

Hanged in the Red Keep per Otto’s orders for trying to warn Rhaenyra.

Lord Lyman Beesbury

Got his head smashed in by Criston Cole protesting Otto’s plan to install Aegon as King.

King Viserys Targaryen

Died from old age and a crippling chronic illness.

Laenor Velaryon

Faked his death and ran off with Qarl.

Ser Harwin Strong

Presumably burned alive by his own brother’s mercenaries.

Lord Lyonel Strong

Presumably burned alive by his own son’s mercenaries.

Lady Laena Velaryon

Suicide by dragonfire after pregnancy complications.

Grand Maester Mellos

Presumably died a rare peaceful death.

Joffrey Lonmouth

Literally got his head smashed in by Ser Criston Cole.

Lady Rhea Royce of the Vale

Paralyzed after falling off her horse then likely finished off by Daemon.

Craghas Drahar

Literally sliced in half by Daemon.

Prince Baelon Targaryen

Died a day after his birth. “Heir for a day.”

Queen Aemma Targaryen

Died during childbirth.

King Jaehaerys Targaryen

Died many years ago. Succeeded by King Viserys.
