1. Principal Weems is a shapeshifter.
Rowan reemerging after we clearly saw him get murdered in the pilot was a mystery that was quickly resolved after it was revealed that Principal Weems is a shapeshifter that had taken on Rowan’s form to cover up his murder for reasons unknown. It’ll be interesting to see if the writers decide to use this to throw the audience off by having Weems take on other characters’ forms without immediately revealing so.
2. The Addams were a part of the Nightshades secret society.
It’s clear that the Addams’ family have a complicated relationship with Nevermore, and that was furthered with the revelation that they were part of the Nightshades. One would assume that Morticia and Rowan’s mother had some sort of relationship seeing that they were both a part of the same secret society. If so, is Morticia aware of her classmate’s prophecy? Either way, why didn’t she tell Wednesday that she was part of the Nightshades?
3. There are some deep-rooted politics in Jericho.
The sheriff’s animosity towards Nevermore was clear from the get-go. It was also quickly established that there’s significant tension between Nevermore and the rest of the town. Weems threatening to call the mayor if the sheriff oversteps seemingly reveals that Nevermore has the support of the mayor. Whether this is an alliance that’s based on some sort of mutually beneficial arrangement or if the mayor is an ex-Nevermore student remains to be seen.
